Interpreting is an integrative multi-task linguistic practice in combination with skills of

listening, speaking, reading, writing and interpreting. It is an impromptu action involves aninterpreter's bilingual capacity,extra knowledge,interpreting skills and techniques andpsychological qualities. Interpreting course aims at cultivating applied talents which issuitablefor English majors in their third orfourth year who have a fairlygood command ofChinese and English.Focusing on skills and techniques training, the course will help thestudents improve the skills and techniques required of professional interpreters. Studentswill also be given a grounding in the theory underlying the principles and practice ofinterpreting. The course will provide students abundant practical materials in variousforms, subjects and contents.
