The course takes Chinese characteristic socialism and Chinese dream education, and socialism core values education as basis, briefly introduces the historical and cultural background of British literature, and guides the students to know the representative classical writers and their works. Moreover, through reading the representative works of main British writers, class discussion, analysis, and reflection, students will primarily improve their knowledge of English history, society and culture and the ability of critical thinking. The course of Selected Readings of British literature is mainly to introduce, read and discuss the selected parts of the representative works of famous British writers in various periods.
