(3)According to working conditions of the friction surfaces,they can be divided into dry clutches and wet clutches. Chapter 1 Clutch Section 2 Friction Clutch 2.The Components and Working Principle of Friction Clutches Friction clutches mainly including active part,driven part,hold- down mechanism and control mechanism. The working principle is that clutches transmit torque relying on friction between the friction surfaces of the active part and driven part. 2.1 Composition (1)Active part:Including the flywheel,clutch cover,pressure plate, which rotes together with the engine crankshaft.
