To be a good interpreter, we must have a solid foundation in at least two languages. A good language foundation includes the mastery of source language and target language in terms of both language comprehension and language production. We also need to have a good knowledge of the two languages, the ability to use them flexibly, a good understanding of different cultures and the ability to mediate intercultural communication.
