Treatment Pregnant women with genital herpes All women with active lesions at delivery are delivered by cesarean section, ideally within 4 hours of rupture of the membrane Acyclovir suppression can be used in women with their initialoutbreak during pregnancy, to reduce recurrence during late phase of gestation and therefore prevent the necessity of cesarean section Other: topical agents, interferon, transfer factor, chinese medicine etc
