females live longer than males (human) 以欧洲为例，最长寿的几个国家是冰岛、挪威、瑞典、荷兰和瑞士 。按1977年的资料，冰岛是最长寿国，男子达73.5岁，女子达 79.8岁。挪威的男子72.3岁，女子达到78.9岁。瑞典男子72.8 岁，女子79.2岁。1980~1985年冰岛预期寿命为77.6岁。到 2020~2025年为78.2岁。亚洲内部寿命水平的地理差异也极 为悬殊。例如，近年来日本已成为世界上最长寿国之一。1977年 日本男子的平均寿命为72.9岁，女子78.2岁。可是东南亚、南亚 及西南亚广大地区的平均寿命均甚低。以越南为例，1970~ 1975年男子仅43.2岁，女子46.0岁 日本厚生劳动省2011年10月16日公布的“简易生命表”显示， 日本女性平均寿命去年为86.05岁，创最高纪录，且连续24年位 踞世界第一，日本男性去年平均寿命79.29岁，跌至第四位。 香港人寿命无论是男性或女性，都高踞全球第二位。 香港女性去年平均寿命为85.5岁，全球排第二位；法国排第三位 ,平均84.3岁。男性寿命排第一的是冰岛人，平均79.6岁，香港 和瑞士的男性以79.4岁并列第二位
