However.behavior of pollutant movement in coastal water is not well understood,and advancing this understanding is crucial to improve coastal water quality.Hence.it is very important to analyze the pollutant move nent behavior in coastal water waves and other hydrodynamics,and these will also be helpful to predicting the coastal aquatic environment evolution and providing the control measures. The experiment will study the pollutant movement in coastal water waves,and will be conducted at Sta Key labo ato ry of Coastal and Offshore Engine ering. The experiment is consisted of 3 parts:(1)pollutant movement in linear water wave;(2) pollutant movement in cnoidal water waves;(3)pollutant movement in solitary water waves.In the experiment,students will have chance to discover and understand some basic laws for pollutant movement in water waves,such as the water period and height influence on pollutant movement.It is expected that the experimental study will cultivate the student interest and operating ability,as well as analyze and solve ability in scientific research,and improve their comprehensive generalizing ability.What' more.the experiment will also be helpful to strengthen students knowledge on coastal aquatic environment,as well as theory and practice combination. 5.Equipments (1)Ocean Environmental Test Flume.
