Research Interests S.J.T.U. Phase Transformation and Applications Combination of theoretical modeling and experimental studies relating to solid-solid phase transformations and the evolution of microstructure in materials. Particular emphasis is placed on the study of relations between properties and structure resulting from various transformations of materials, including studies of martensite, pearlite and bainite transformations, the structure and properties of interfaces, and the use of computer-calculated phase equilibria for solving practical advanced materials design problems. Currently addressing theoretical modelling of solid state transformation under external field (stress, magnetic field etc.),The multicomponent materials design using a thermodynamic database and related software, and development of new shape memory materials such as shape memory ceramics, ferromagnetic shape memory alloys. My group is also interested in the size dependant stability of nano-structred materials.
